Needed for most applications (1991 to 1998 Se-r's and G20's , even some 1999 and 2000 G20's) to prevent cracking on passenger side, which commonly occurs under wheel hop.
There is a void in the aluminum housing under the opening for the passenger axle. Thus, this becomes the area that will naturally want to separate and crack under load. The other parts are stronger around the opening; so, this spot receives the abuse. Once it's cracked, the transmission is not fixable because the crack goes from outside to inside. Get it welded by JGY BEFORE it cracks. After it is welded, it is safe.

Shortens throws without sacrificing sensitivity, made of stainless steel for the shifter and the knob, and aluminum for the housing. The shifter is only about 1 inch shorter than stock, so how does it give you a much shorter throw from gate to gate? We increased the lower portion by about 1/2 inch. This allows you to move the part that is actually changing the gears at a faster and greater rate with less movement from your hand. You end up with quicker gear changes, with less hand and arm movement. Important note for transmission shipping - Use a 2'x2' sheet of plywood, one 2' 2x4, three bolts, three nails, and three nuts. Place the transmission face down on the board, drill and bolt transmission to board. Use remaining 2x4 and nail 2x4 to underside of plywood to allow UPS driver a void to put his hands in. Shipping UPS this way not being in a box.
